The competition which kicked off with the first preliminary stage on Nov 18, saw top schools such as Corona Schools, Chrisland School, Heritage House School, Straitgate Academy, First Quiver Schools, etc compete amongst each other and produced 10 finalists that will compete in the finale.
The second preliminary stage held the followning weekend on Dec 2. It was a fiercer competition with schools such as Ambassadors College, Pampers Private School, Dansol High School, Straitgate College etc compete at the Junior Secondary School category level. 10 finalists also emerged from this category and will compete at the grand finale.
The preliminary stage of the competition was wrapped up last weekend with the Senior Secondary School category. Schools in attendance include; Ambassadors College, Covenant Child Academy, Dansol High School, Greenspring Schools, Lagos State Government Model College, Straitgate College, Princeton College, Dansol High School, Jesilo School, Ronnie Schools, Attwool Schools, Royal Regency School with a total of 67 participants.
The final preliminary stage was officiated by Dr Blessing Ntamu; Author, Radio Host & Lecturer, University of Calabar as Pronouncer of The Day, Mr Ronald Cilliers, Principal Grace Schools, Mr Oladapo Oyewumi; CEO/Founder Centre for Law & Business, Mr Akanimmo Akpabio; Human Resource Professional, Nigerian Stock Exchange as Jury of The Day and Victoria Nkong; CEO Qtaby Events as Host of The Day. 10 finalists from different schools emerged and will compete amongst each other in the grand finale this weekend. The Grand Finale of the CLB Academy Spelling Bee Competition will hold this Saturday Dec 9, 2017 at the Landmark Event Centre, Oniru, Lagos and will feature a Special French spelling category and also a fresh round of the primary school category.
It will also feature music performances from top artists such as Orezi, Soma etc. schools presentations, and a special appearance and speech by Nigeria’s modern Cinderella Olajumoke Orisaguna has a she launches her campaign to ‘EDUCATE A CHILD TODAY’ and insure their future after being thrilled by the performances of participants at the preliminaries.
She will be joined on stage by the famous Nigerian kid model Diana. Celebrity guest appearance by Lolo1 of Wazobia a.k.a Adaku of Jenifas Diary, MC Abbey, Yaw, Kate Henshaw, Sabina of Naija FM, OTB of Naija FM, Alex Okoroji and many others.
